ReplyDeletehey Everyone!! :D
ReplyDeleteI really liked the episode we watched today, I feel that the younger generation are influenced by crime committed in the city. Also , it shows that the youngsters feel that they have to be involved with drug dealing, because it's a part of life in the city. However , I think that the politician story is really confusing and hard to follow as it would be connected to the previous series.
The characters I like so far are Snoop and Duquan.I like Snoop because she isn't a stereotypical 'girly' girl and her character is really funny and down to earth. She's seems to be straightforward and non-educated.However, she is educated in the 'game' and the way drugs are dealt around The City.
I like the character Duquan as well.He is shown to be very alone and too himself. From the episode today it shows that he is trying to make friends, however they just use him and that he is just a tag along.I feel sorry for his character as he just wants to be part of the gang and be a good friend to all of them.
Have a good Evening everyone :D
I like the whole concept of the program, its interesting but there are too many characters so it's a bit confusing.
ReplyDeleteI really like the wire, i think it its different to other tv programmes as although there is alot going on there is a link between the groups in society for example from politics to drug dealers to police. I think it is a good representation of a city, also what instantly struck me was that all the drug dealers were black..this is a stereotype which fits in with the story. The charecters which strike me the most are the kids, i feel sorry for them as they shouldnt be in this so called game, similarly the major drug dealers are great watch. The police look intellegent however find it hard to convict criminals. The link between politician and the people is what i like the most. Overall in the first episode i enjoyed the kids gang war with rivals as this could represent real gang wars on a more serious level when they grow up etc. I think it is a challenging but intriguing programme.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed watching this episode , as I thought it was different from many other programmes I generally watch.
ReplyDeleteI think youngsters are generally portrayed as following and learning from their alders , and this is the reason why drug dealing is still taking place.
This is the case for Randy.
I really like Dukie , although I felt sorry for him as he doesn't have as much respect as the other characters within the wire.
I found The Wire very different and interesting, particularly due to the variety of characters from different parts of society and seeing how they link.
ReplyDeleteI think the characters within the gangs are not too confusing but I find that the people working for the politicians can be hard to keep up with. I enjoy all the other parts of The Wire but I find the politics section quite boring particularly with the terms they use which find it hard to understand what they're talking about at times.
Generally, I really enjoy watching The Wire.
